IMPACT ARTS INFORMATION
Impact Arts provides a fun environment for children to develop their artistic abilities.
Beginning in March, we are offering five classes:

Beginner Drama for ages 7 - 13.

Audition to Stage Drama for ages 8 - 13. (Prerequisite: you must have some drama experience. This is not a beginner class.)

Voice class for ages 6 - 13.

Hip-Hop for ages 6 - 13.

Creative Movement for ages 4 - 6.
Classes will run on Mondays from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. starting March 3, 2025, and ending with a showcase on April 7, 2025. (Please note that the April 7th class will end at 6:00 pm.)
Each class will include games, learning through play, and practical application techniques. In the final showcase, students can show off their new skills during the last half of the April 7th class. This day will run from 4:30 - to 6:00 pm.
Registration is open from now until February 28, 2025. Space is limited, so don't wait!
The cost is $60 per child.

BEGINNER DRAMA
$60 PER CHILD
For ages 7 - 13.
Our Beginner Drama class is for those who are new to acting but would like to learn some of the basics. We will work on listening and responding truthfully, vocal projection, stage presence, character development, and more. To act is to be free to play! We look forward to exploring play with these new actors.
Teacher: Courtney Willie

Courtney Willie has been singing, dancing, acting and performing since age 5. She has performed in live theatre productions throughout her childhood and teen years. She completed her formal acting, dancing, and vocal training through post-secondary education at Playhouse North School of Theater.
AUDITION TO STAGE DRAMA
$60 PER CHILD
For ages 8 - 13. (To register for this class, some drama experience is required).
This class is a guaranteed time of fun while learning the process of auditioning, casting, learning lines, the importance of teamwork with your cast mates, getting into a role and being prepared for show night! This class is for those who have previous drama experience and are looking for a taste of the thespian life.
Teacher: Renee Gait

Renee Gait loves all things drama and theatre! She was introduced to musical theatre in 2017 when her daughter joined Cornerstone Youth Theatre, and although she has aged out, Renee is still heavily involved. Renee had the privilege of being a teacher's assistant and sub for the Foundations of Drama classes at CYT before moving on to teach a 10-week session on her own. She currently teaches four studio Drama classes for musical theatre at CYT.
Fun fact: In 2018, Renee had the opportunity to go to New York and spend a week attending Broadway workshops!
VOICE
$60 PER CHILD
For ages 6 - 13.
This class is open to all skill levels. Students will be taught the importance of caring for their voice, how to use it without damaging it, how to warm up and cool down, how to breathe effectively, and how to sing more efficiently. They will exercise their ear for music and develop a greater ability to hear parts and sing parts of music.
Teacher: Deborah Checkel
Deborah's love of music has been a life-long journey that has included small and large vocal, instrumental, and dance ensembles, as well as solo performances, musical theatre, and studio recordings. After studying as a Vocal Music Major in college, Deborah’s teaching experience has spanned several decades of private music lessons for voice, keyboard, guitar, and student bands. Her music genre experience has ranged from Classical to Jazz, Rock, Pop, and Praise & Worship, as demonstrated by the eclectic repertoire of her family’s cover band, Almost Blue & Company, which has been performing at local venues since 2011. ​
HIP-HOP
$60 PER CHILD
For ages 6 - 13.
This hip-hop class guarantees a good workout and a whole lot of fun. Students will begin learning their choreography from the first class for their final showcase. This is sure to challenge and grow their dance knowledge and fluidity. From basic steps to some more advanced combinations, there will be something for every experience level.
Teacher: Aimee Hartnoll

Aimee Hartnoll specializes in hip-hop and Latin American dance.
​
She has been dancing since she was a child. Originally from England, it was there that Aimee became part of the IDTA (International Dance Teacher's Association).
She taught the previous three hip-hop classes at Impact Arts and a ladies' hip-hop class at Impact Life Church's ladies' conference.
Dance is Aimee's passion, and she loves to see people enjoy it in a safe space.
CREATIVE MOVEMENT
$60 PER CHILD
For ages 4 - 6.
This class is designed as an introduction to movement for our kindergarten-aged students. Here, they will learn some basic dance techniques, some tumbling basics and also how to follow basic step-by-step instructions. We look forward to learning through play with our 4 and 5-year-olds.
Teacher: Swetlana Wiebe

Swetlana is a mom of 3 littles with a teaching degree in English and Geography. She has been serving in the children’s ministry at Impact Life Church for more than six years. As she has assisted the creative movement class in the past, she is well-prepared and thrilled to be the teacher for this term. She is looking forward to helping children discover and bring out their artistic side.
